Since 2009, we have asked every client – usually several times – for a Google review of our service. We have not offered discounts or other free services but do pay our team managers a bonus for every 5 star review they receive. Getting reviews is extremely time consuming for our company. The majority of our happy customers are too busy, too “public” or in a profession which prohibits them from writing a review. LUX Cleaning does not pay for 5 star reviews or have real non-5 star reviews deleted but third parties – even though this option is always available from multiple sources.
Reviews are helpful—but they’re not the whole story. In home cleaning services Toronto, setting and meeting expectations consistently is challenging, and genuine long-term reviews often grow very slowly. Use reviews as one signal; also look for:
- Transparent policies (WSIB, insurance, damage resolution)
- Documented methods and checklists
- Tenure of clients and employees
- Neighborhood-specific testimonials
- Cautionary note: Be skeptical of any “too perfect” pattern – especially if you see an inordinate amount of 5 star reviews from businesses that have only been operating for a few years. Evaluate the substance behind the stars.
