Hi, I’m Allan the founder and managing director of LUX Cleaning. My wife Lisa Robb is my life and business partner.

Lisa Robb grew up in mid-town Toronto, attending Toronto French School and St. Clements school for girls before finishing high school at North Toronto Collegiate. After graduating from McGill University she built a career in corporate sales and corporate operations management. While Lisa has played a significant role in the success of LUX Cleaning, she is currently, the Vice President of Operations at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Before starting LUX Cleaning, I spent 25 years working with large corporations on strategic branding and consumer research projects. I built a successful Canadian design firm and later led large creative and brand strategy teams at some of Canada’s most recognized brands.

When I found himself wanting to leave my job as a Creative Director at a large agency, I decided to apply my years of experience in consumer branding into a consumer product or service. But what?

After spending my Saturday cleaning at home all day (in between house cleaning services … again) while Lisa spent time with the kids, she joked that I should “start a cleaning company because I loved cleaning so much”.

At first I laughed and thought it was a bit of a silly idea. And then during the next few days I realized that there was a distinct gap in a Toronto home service based cleaning industry due to the overall low quality of cleaning services being offered to customers. I wondered if people would pay for a quality service, built on professionalism and best practices and run like a quality corporation.

As we grew, we changed and improved the cleaning system hundreds of times and increased our training and development time and resources.

Over 30,000 cleanings and hundreds of happy clients later we still offer something that is (surprisingly) unique in mid-town Toronto. A consistently reliable, high quality home cleaning service that is delivered with passion and precision. Our caring and professional team members are meticulous, caring and dedicated to ensuring our detailed cleaning system is delivered to home owners like you.

I’ve discovered that a house cleaning service like ours is NOT easy to run. To maintain this level of service to our clients it requires a dedicated team and daily meticulous attention to management.
