Why is working for LUX different from other cleaning jobs?
Many cleaning jobs promise high hourly pay but not many hours per week, bad locations, not enough time to clean the home properly and you need your own transportation and supplies. At LUX, we take care of everything for you. Since 2009, we have become known as the best in the city and we are proud of our “expert” status in the industry.
Will you work in a team?
We work in teams that respect and help each other and offer a premium customer service experience for our clients. You will learn real time management and customer service skills and how to be an expert home cleaner. We transport our teams by vehicle and you are paid for transportation time. Our teams use the best tools and supplies and the same tools in every home.
What does the work involve?
We professionally clean ONLY houses, and condos in mid-town Toronto and are in the customer service business. We consistently meet our clients high expectations, freeing up our clients valuable time and making them very happy. This is physical and very satisfying work, especially if you are really into “clean”. We do not clean commercial offices or businesses.
You mean a "Maid" service?
We specialize in house cleaning duties for clients who want their home detail cleaned and then have us visit on a regular basis. We also offer spring, pre-sale and move-in cleaning, otherwise known as “deep cleaning”. However, we do not offer laundry or ironing services; we do not cook, take in dry cleaning, walk dogs, or perform other chores typically done by “maids”.
Scrubbing other people's toilets and washing floors on my hands and knees seems demeaning. Is it?
Like anything in life, it all depends on how you look at it. Our teams take great pride in deep cleaning and polishing toilets better than the competition and some floors only really get clean if you are on your hands and knees (we provide knee pads along with Crocs, aprons and company T-shirts). We do take cleaning seriously and people who like cleaning, like working at LUX a lot. For our teams, it’s all about working for a highly professional organization and being the best.
Do I have to provide my own supplies or uniforms?
No. We provide all uniforms and equipment needed for the day’s cleanings. You meet the team at the first cleaning of the day and we provide transportation between all cleanings.
Do I need experience?
Yes – but it does not have to be professional cleaning experience. We train you with the latest techniques in home cleaning and provide you with the best tools available. We work both smart and hard at LUX. If you have cleaned professionally cleaned before be prepared to be “retrained” to our specific cleaning system.
How many hours will I need to work?
Our regular cleaning job schedule is between 8 AM and 6 PM Monday-Friday and you will need to be available during these times. Some cleanings start as late as 9 am. Some days finish as early as 3 pm. Saturday hours may be available pending client requests. Employees typically work between 30 and 40 hours per week. This is not a part-time job.
